Italian scrap prices may improve amid strengthening market

Italian mills are buying lower scrap volumes this month as most of them will implement longer maintenance stoppages due to the downturn in demand for finished flat and long products, market participants tell Kallanish. Some long steelmakers have already shut down production and will resume in the third week of August.
