Italian scrap prices fall €100
Italian scrap prices are falling by €100/tonne ($105/t) in new May contracts. Impacted by high energy costs and imported raw materials, such as hot-briquetted iron, local mills are beginning to slash their purchasing prices in the month’s first contracts. Sales activity remains slow due to resistance from scrap merchants that want to limit the price drop.
