Italian rebar values slide again
Italian rebar prices continue to decline amid a market deadlock that started in April. Values are falling again, by €50/tonne ($53) compared to last week.
Sales are happening back-to-back. Sources who spoke to Kallanish are implementing contracts only for 100 tonnes or 200 tonnes. Mills are carrying out stoppages and suspending scrap procurement, with one producer rumoured to be preparing to stop production for several weeks due to a revamp.
