Italian pig iron prices decline
Italian pig iron prices are falling in new contracts by $100/tonne on average compared to April levels.
After the initial wait-and-see attitude when buyers received low Russian-origin pig iron offers at $650-670/t cfr Italy, contracts are now being implemented in this price range for small lots. The buyers are mainly Italian distributors who purchase directly from producers to replenish stocks at the main Marghera port.
