Italian merchant bar prices flatten amid slow trade
Italian merchant bar transaction values are flattening compared to the beginning of the month. Local producers' price hikes have not been successful so far, distributors and agents tell Kallanish.
Demand for the products continues to be weak. All buyers are reaching the end of the year with medium to low stocks and activity is now quiet due to the Christmas holiday break. Several mills have idled production and will resume on 8 January.
