Italian longs prices decline on slow demand
Italian long steel prices are weakening due to a slow market and lack of apparent demand, sources tell Kallanish.
After a long period of stability, merchant bar values are falling by some €30/tonne ($32), under pressure from cheaper material coming from Spain and Eastern Europe. Distributors and end-users are buying small tonnages and the only sales occurring are being driven by real consumption.
