Iron ore surges over New Year holiday
Seaborne iron ore prices in China jumped in the last week of December, as China's official post-Covid reopening announcement spurred a recovery in market sentiment.
The Kallanish KORE 62% Fe index gained $6.15/t over last week to $118.71/dry metric tonne cfr Qingdao. The Kallanish KORE 65% Fe index meanwhile jumped up by $6.12/t to $132.32/dmt cfr, and the KORE 58% Fe index rose $3.65/t to $101.29/dmt cfr.
