Iron ore steadies for now but falls expected

Seaborne iron ore prices strengthened on Friday on a pick-up in buying activity. The outlook for iron ore remained firmly subdued however and analysts’ forecasts still point to a weak remainder of the year. The Kallanish index for 62% Fe Australian fines regained $0.59/t to $47.39/dry metric ton cfr Qingdao. Corex saw trades for PB fines at $49.7/tonne and 65% Fe Brazilian fines at $53.35/t.
