Iron ore steadies as steel futures recover
Seaborne iron ore prices firmed a little on Friday as Chinese steel futures suggested an end to the latest round of falls. Iron ore port stocks were also declining last week but the outlook for the week to come remains full of uncertainty.
The Kallanish index for 62% Fe Australian fines rose marginally by $0.06 to $57.50/dry metric ton cfr Qingdao. 170,000 tonnes of Standard Sinter Feed Guiaba and 170,000t of PB fines traded on globalORE at floating prices.
