Iron ore flat as holiday pauses trading
Seaborne iron ore barely moved on Thursday as China began its Mid-Autumn Festival holiday. Vale has tried to calm fears of mounting oversupply but in the short term a weak Chinese steel market is likely to have more influence.
The Kallanish index for 62% Fe Australian fines dipped very slightly again by $0.10 to $55.92/dry metric ton cfr Qingdao. 170,000 tonnes of Standard Sinter Feed Guiaba traded at a floating price for November delivery on globalORE.
