India’s July steel, DRI surges, pig iron plunges
Indian crude steel production surged marginally by 3.22% on-year to 10.07 million tonnes in July against 9.76mt produced a year ago. Meanwhile, January-July crude steel also grew 8% to 73.31mt, Kallanish notes.
Likewise, the nation’s direct-reduced iron output surged 12.66% on-year to 3.50mt in July against 3.11mt, produced last year. The January-July produced also increased by 5.40% to 24.06mt against 22.83mt, for last year.
