Grupo Simec begins Brazilian Pindamonhangaba plant upgrade
Mexican long steel producer Grupo Simec has begun to upgrade its Pindamonhangaba plant in Brazil, Kallanish notes. The $300 million investment will allow the company’s annual production capacity to reach 1.25 million tonnes/year of rebar and wire rod from the current 650,000t, and generate 450 direct jobs.
