Graphite India reports record earnings, but margins narrow
Graphite India says electrode prices have softened in recent months while needle coke costs have continued to rise, thereby narrowing margins. Needle coke prices are, however, expected to soften and stabilise in the medium term.
The Indian graphite electrode producer reported 28% year-on-year growth in revenue in the fourth fiscal quarter through March to INR 1,693 crore ($243 million) but net profit only grew by 4% to INR 562 crore.
