German scrap market expects hikes after Russian invasion
German scrap prices increased in February for the first time since the beginning of the year and after falling in January, according to German scrap market participants. Most sources expect new hikes in March due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine and good demand.
Prices in southern Germany and in most other parts of the country increased by €20-50/tonne ($22-56/t) last month, a German participant in the market tells Kallanish.
