German automotive output surges in September
Car production in Germany increased for the fifth consecutive month in September. German manufacturers produced 366,700 cars, up 65% on September 2021, carmakers federation VDA reports.
Since the beginning of the year, 2.5 million cars have been produced, 8% more than in the first nine months of last year. However, the pre-coronavirus production levels of the first three quarters of 2019 were still 30% higher than in the current year, VDA notes.
