German car production falls in first quarter
Passenger car production from German assembly lines in the first three months of this year was 9% down from the corresponding 2023 quarter, totalling 1 million units, according to national automotive federation VDA.
The year-on-year drop was even more pronounced in March, which was 15% lower than March 2023, with 372,800 units made. Of the quarterly production, 790,700 units were for export, down 5% on Q1 2023.
