G J Steel extends losses in first quarter
Thailand's G J Steel saw its losses widen in the first quarter as the economic slowdown led to weak steel demand in downstream industries.
According to the company's public announcement, revenue declined from THD 3.613 billion ($98 million) in Q1 2023 to THB 3.48 billion in Q1 2024. Gross profit was TH 98 million, with net loss at THB 52m, versus a THB 128m profit and THB 32m loss a year earlier.
