French rebar prices flatten amid slow demand, uncertainty
French rebar prices are flattening this week after declining by some €50/tonne ($52/t) compared to April.
Demand is said to remain slow. The distribution segment has been ordering lower volumes as final customers expect values of steel, cement, and timber to continue to weaken.
Domestic rebar contracts are now hovering at €900-920/t base ex-works, depending on volume. Considering €260/t average for size extras, effective values are at €1,160-1…
