French mills’ production cut preparations subdue scrap activity
French domestic scrap prices are expected to fall in July. The demand stagnation for long and flat products is significant and producers will start reducing output already next month, adapting production to a reduced level of demand, Kallanish hears.
In other European countries, mills are beginning to buy scrap weekly, which is a way not to commit to longer-term procurement in such an uncertain market.
