French longs consumption remains subdued
Some long and flat steelmakers in France are implementing increases, which are not being received well downstream, sources in the distribution and processing sector tell Kallanish.
“The situation of consumption downstream is completely catastrophic as it is in Germany. We see a challenging year ahead. The main concern today revolves around tight margins. In 2024, we will not manage to make a profit,” a purchasing group source says.
