French car output increases in May
French passenger car output increased in May by over 22% compared to the same month in 2015 to 175,834 units, French carmakers’ association CCFA confirms to Kallanish.
Output of light vehicles below 5.1 tonnes in weight also increased last month, by over 23% on-year to 210,113 units. Industrial (heavy) vehicles output confirmed its momentum in May, recording over 22% growth to 3,708 units.
In January-May passenger car production went up over 10% y-o-y to 875,079 vehicles, while light vehicles output also increased over 10% to 1.05 million units. Heavy transport output registered an 18% increase to 19,622 units, CCFA concludes.
