French car output grows again on-year in July
French vehicle manufacturing output shows another positive result in July. After slowing in April by -6% year-on-year, French passenger car output resumed its upward trend in May and June. Last month the country’s output reached 147,519 units, or 10.9% increase m-o-m, the French carmakers’ association CCFA confirms to Kallanish. Output over January-July also grew by 3.8% y-o-y to 1.2 million units.
Production of light commercial vehicles below 5.1 tonnes in weight also increased in July, by 11.4% on-year to 179,833 units and by 4.4% y-o-y over the first seven months of 2017 to 1.5m units.
Industrial (heavy) vehicles output recorded a 2% hike y-o-y to 3,967 units in July while over the period January-July, the production of this vehicle type upticked by 5.8% on-year to 30,119 units, CCFA confirms.
