Carloadings of iron ore, coal fall in Canada
Freight loadings of both iron ore and coal fell in Canada during the month of February, Kallanish learns from survey data collected by Statistics Canada.
According to Statistics Canada's railway carloading report, monthly shipments of iron ore and concentrates decreased by 1.9%, or 75,000 tonnes, during February after rising by 19.4% at the beginning of this year. At the same time, freight loadings of coal fell in Canada by 4.8%, or 156,000t.
