February crude steel output shrinks in Africa
Despite growth in South Africa, Africa’s crude steel output shrank in February and the first two months of 2023, dragged down by Egypt, Kallanish notes.
The combined crude steel production of Egypt, South Africa, Libya and newly-added-to worldsteel-reports Tunisia slid 7.1% on-month and 11.9% on-year in February to 1.13 million tonnes.
