Fangchenggang commissions new HDG line
China’s Wuhan Iron and Steel (Wugang) began commercial production at a hot dip galvanizing line at its Fangchenggang steelworks project in southern Guangxi province on 20 November. The line adds to finished steel capacity at the site in an attempt to capture market from Baosteel, Kallanish notes.
The plant has 450,000 tonnes/year of capacity and will produce 0.4-2mm thick HDG with widths up to 1,800mm. The new line will take its feed from Fangchenggan…
