Expectations for Turkish scrap diverge following holiday
Uncertainty and diverging expectations are seen prevailing in the Turkish scrap market after the 1 May holiday.
A southern Turkish mill is confirmed to have bought US-origin HMS 1&2 80:10 at $397/tonne and shredded and P&S at $417/t cfr Turkey.
Although there are rumours of Baltic-origin offers at $390/t cfr Turkey, some suppliers say their latest quotes were tabled at $400/t cfr at the end of last week, and are showing strong resistance to anything below…
