High European stainless coil prices seen persisting
European stainless steel hot and cold rolled coil prices have passed the level of €4,000/tonne ($4,488) amid shortages and limited imports, Kallanish notes.
Alloy surcharges are also increasing significantly for December, driven by high costs of raw materials such as nickel (see separate story). These high prices are forecast to continue through 2022 unless the EU eases protectionism on these products, sources believe.
