Esco delivers Tehran Metro rail, prioritises domestic market
Tehran and Suburbs Metro Operating Company (Tusroc) has received 500 tonnes or nearly 9.2km of 54E1-grade (UIC54) steel rails from Esfahan Steel Company (Esco) for the expansion the Tehran Metro. Although the steelmaker has planned rail exports, it says its main goal is to supply domestic demand.
Esco, the sole rail producer in Iran, supplied the UIC54 type T section rail used for medium and heavy load traffic.
