Demand for imported rebar weakens in Singapore
The rebar market in Singapore continues to be soft amid quiet and muted activity, Kallanish notes.
Theoretical-weight rebar for July/August shipment from a leading Malaysian exporting mill is being offered this week at around $530/tonne dap or trucked to Singapore. This is equivalent to $520-525/t cfr Singapore. These prices are for 10,000-tonne cargoes. This is the second consecutive week with a $5/t reduction.
