Weak currency hits China's scrap imports

The Chinese scrap market has continued to fall in the last week, and operating losses have spread from electric arc furnace steel mills to blast furnace steel mills. On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 3,063/tonne ($430/t), including VAT.
