Coking coal smashes through $300/t prompting steelmaker fears
Seaborne coking coal prices continued to soar on Tuesday with two high priced deals on globalCOAL. Japan’s Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal Corporation (NSSMC) says it no longer expects prices to fall until next year, putting severe pressure on its next contract negotiations, Kallanish notes.
