Chinese steel futures fall hard on Wednesday

Chinese steel futures, having broken their winning streak and fallen on Tuesday, tumbled dramatically on Wednesday. Both rebar and HRC contracts took a distinct turn for the worse, Kallanish notes. On the Shanghai Futures Exchange the May rebar contract closed at CNY 3,916/tonne ($692/t), CNY 135/t lower than Tuesday. The same contract for hot rolled coil closed down CNY 136/t at CNY 3,932/t.
