Chinese rebar drops, mills hold offers

The eastern China rebar market saw trading gradually slow in the first week of 2024, with steel mills increasing maintenance to reduce supply pressure. In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 20mm HRB400 rebar was trading at CNY 3,900-3,920/tonne ($545-548/t), down CNY 20/t on-week, Kallanish assesses.
