Major Chinese steel producers have kept flat or increased their flat steel ex-works prices for December. In the face of a wide range of steel production restricitons starting in mid-November, steel mills have frequently been heard halting sales from their own warehouses in northern China. Other regions' steelmakers are keepking flats prices steady, but optimismn for hot rolled coil has been growing, Kallanish notes.
