Chinese scrap slumps on lower demand

The Chinese scrap market weakened as mill profits contracted, even though arrivals fell over the same period. On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 2,697/tonne ($372/t), including VAT.
