China's scrap prices hold steady
China's scrap prices remained calm ahead of the New Year holiday, and some steel mills stopped buying scrap as collectors were already away from the market.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 3,042/tonne ($448/t), including VAT. This is unchanged from Thursday and from the previous Friday.
