China scrap prices decline, imports hold

The Chinese scrap market has weakened with last week's drop in steel prices. Steel mills have returned to losses and this is weighing on raw material purchase prices. On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 3,082/tonne ($446/t), including VAT.
