China's scrap price steadies
The Chinese scrap market turned from weak to strong last week, with both supply and steel mill demand picking up on the easing of power cuts.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 3,235/tonne ($471/t), including VAT. This is up CNY 8/t from Thursday and CNY 5/t higher compared with the previous Friday.
