Mills’ holiday output resumption lifts Chinese scrap
Chinese steel mills resuming production during the Golden Week holiday boosted scrap purchases in early October.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed Chinese 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 3,757/tonne ($583/t), including VAT. This is CNY 23/t higher than the last trading day before the holiday.
