Chinese scrap prices increase on demand recovery
Chinese scrap prices rebounded before the October holiday with support from demand. Import markets remained quiet, however.
On Thursday, Kallanish assessed Chinese 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 3,734/tonne ($578/t), including VAT. This is CNY 8/t higher than Wednesday and CNY 63/t lower compared with the previous Friday.
