Chinese scrap hikes on tight supply

Chinese scrap prices surged after the Lunar New Year holiday due to tight supply, but spot transactions remained weak. On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 3,070/tonne ($455/t), including VAT.
