China's scrap gains with demand recovery
China's scrap prices turned upward last week, with Shagang raising scrap purchase prices to support the market trend.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 3,152/tonne ($451/t), including VAT. This is down CNY 1/t from Thursday but up CNY 47/t from the previous Friday.
