China's early-July long steel offers slump

Construction steel prices in eastern China fell in early July, as the weak performance of the steel market forced steel mills to cut prices to bag promotional sales. Shagang, Zenith and Yonggang each announced cuts of CNY 100/tonne ($13.75/t) for their rebar, wire rod and rebar in coil offers, Kallanish notes. Meanwhile, Zenith and Yonggang are providing CNY 140-155/t and CNY 170/t respectively to their sales agents to make up for losses in the past ten days. …
