China's coking coal price drops, coke holds

China's domestic coking coal prices slipped last week as auctions performed poorly. Coke prices are stable but the market expects a downtrend after the Dragon Boat Festival long weekend due to softening steel demand. Anze low-sulphur prime coking coal on Friday was assessed at CNY 1,950/t ($269/t), down CNY 50/t on-week. Lvliang quasi-first-grade wet quenching coke remained steady at CNY 1,800/t.
