China launches plan to recover from lockdowns
Premier Li Keqiang of China’s State Council held an executive meeting on Tuesday and put forward 33 proposals in six areas to bring the economy back on track after the Covid-19-shutdown blow. The lockdown in Shanghai, which began in March, is meanwhile expected to be eased gradually from June, after hitting economic development directly in the second quarter, Kallanish notes.
