China audits 2017 steel capacity elimination progress
China’s National Development & Reform Commission (NDRC) has recently issued an request that local governments audit their 2017 annual steel capacity elimination work, according to CSteel News.
A report reveals that the main goal is to prevent equipment targeted for removal from resuming production. Central government will use this round of audits to definitively measure local governments achievement in cutting capacity, Kallanish notes.
