Canada’s steel, mining sectors get government energy boost
Canada’s steel and mining sectors are benefiting from increased government funding to reduce the energy costs for industrial consumers in northern Ontario.
Funding of the Ontario government’s Northern Energy Advantage Program (NEAP), which provides lower energy rates for industry, is being increased from CAD 120 million ($94.05m)/year to more than CAD 176m/y by 2026, Kallanish understands.
