Brazil’s steel output declines in September
Brazil saw both crude steel and finished products output decrease month-on-month in September. These also remained weaker versus the same period in 2022, Kallanish notes.
Local steelmakers association Instituto Aço Brasil's (IAB) latest report shows that Brazil’s monthly crude steel output was 2.52 million tonnes, down 7% from August and a 9.3% decline year-on-year. Nine-month production was 8.4% weaker on-year at 21.86mt.
