Brazil’s steel output, capacity utilisation decline in April

The Brazilian steel industry saw its performance fall month-on-month and year-on-year in April, amid weaker capacity utilisation, Kallanish notes. Local steelmakers’ association Instituto Aço Brasil (IAB)’s latest report shows the country’s monthly crude steel output was 2.72 million tonnes, down 1.3% over March and 1.1% less on-year.
