Brazil's pig iron production, exports slump
Brazilian pig iron output decreased month-on-month and was weaker on-year in June, according to data issued by local steelmakers’ association Instituto Aço Brasil (IAB) and monitored by Kallanish.
June pig iron output reached 2.05 million tonnes, down 8.2% m-o-m and 10.5% over the same period in 2022. Six-month production totalled 12.84mt, which was 5.5% lower than the 13.59mt produced between January and June last year, IAB data show.
